Jasmine & Rice Water Pore-Tightening Toner
Introduction
Are you struggling with visible pores and skin that feels a bit lax? Skip the expensive chemical astringents. This DIY Jasmine and Rice Water Toner combines the ancient Japanese beauty secret of fermented rice water with the soothing properties of jasmine flowers. Together, they create a natural astringent that balances your skin’s pH, minimizes the appearance of large pores, and provides an instant tightening effect.
Ingredients
-
1/2 cup Organic white rice (preferably jasmine or basmati)
-
1 cup Distilled water
-
1 tablespoon Dried jasmine flowers (or 2-3 drops of pure jasmine essential oil)
Instructions
-
Rinse the Rice: Thoroughly rinse your rice with cold water to remove any dirt or impurities. Drain the water.
-
Extract the Nutrients: Place the clean rice in a bowl and add 1 cup of distilled water. Let it soak for 30 to 45 minutes, swirling it occasionally until the water becomes cloudy.
-
Infuse the Jasmine: Strain the cloudy rice water into a small saucepan, discarding the rice grains. Add the dried jasmine flowers to the liquid.
-
Simmer Gently: Bring the mixture to a very gentle simmer for 2 to 3 minutes just to release the jasmine oils, then remove it from the heat. Let it cool completely.
-
Bottle It: Strain out the jasmine flowers and pour the liquid into a clean spray bottle.
How to Use & Store
Spitz this toner onto a clean face morning and night before applying your moisturizer. Store it in the refrigerator. Because it contains no artificial preservatives, it will stay fresh for 7 to 10 days.
