Step 2: Building the Creamy Layers (Layer 2)
This step has two parts: The Caramel and the Cream Cheese.
Part A: The Caramel Foundation 🍯

Spread the Dulce de Leche: Take the chilled crust out of the fridge.

Gently and evenly spread the entire can of Dulce de Leche or thick caramel sauce over the crust. Be careful not to disturb the crust!

Chill Again: Pop the dish back into the fridge for about 15 minutes to help the caramel firm up slightly.
Part B: The Light & Fluffy Cream ☁️

Whip the Cream Cheese: In a large bowl, use an electric mixer to beat the softened cream cheese until it is smooth and lump-free.

Layer it Up: Carefully spoon the cream mixture over the caramel layer, spreading it out evenly with an offset spatula. Smooth the top.

The Big Chill: Return the dessert to the refrigerator and chill for at least 3-4 hours, or preferably overnight. This allows the layers to set perfectly. 😴
