Lemon, Ginger, and Turmeric

Step-by-Step Instructions & Storage

Follow these simple steps to press, strain, and store your homemade wellness shots.

Step-by-Step Recipe

If Using a Juicer:

  1. Pass the lemons, fresh ginger, and fresh turmeric roots alternately through your juicer chute.

  2. Stir the fresh black pepper and optional honey directly into the collected juice.

  3. Pour into small glass containers.

If Using a Blender:

  1. Roughly chop the ginger and turmeric roots.

  2. Add the chopped roots, peeled lemons, black pepper, and 1/2 cup of water (or coconut water) into your high-speed blender.

  3. Blend on high for 60 seconds until completely smooth.

  4. Place a nut milk bag or fine-mesh strainer over a large bowl and pour the mixture through, squeezing tightly to extract every last drop of liquid. Discard or compost the remaining pulp.

Storage and Serving Suggestions

  • Daily Dose: Drink 1 to 2 ounces every morning on an empty stomach for an instant energy boost.

  • Refrigeration: Store the shots in airtight glass bottles in the refrigerator for up to 5 to 7 days.

  • Freezing: If you make a massive batch, pour the liquid into silicone ice cube trays and freeze. Pop a wellness cube into a mug of hot water for an instant morning tea!

Frequently Asked Questions

Should I peel the ginger and turmeric? If you are using organic roots, a thorough wash to remove dirt is plenty—the skin contains beneficial nutrients and handles juicing perfectly fine. If using conventional roots, a quick scrape with the edge of a spoon will remove the skin easily.

Will the turmeric stain my kitchen? Yes, fresh turmeric can temporarily stain plastic blender jars, countertops, and fingers. Use a glass blender if possible, wear kitchen gloves, and wipe down your counters immediately after prepping.
