What You’ll Need:

  • 1 lb Smoked Sausage or Kielbasa, sliced into rounds

  • 1 medium head of Green Cabbage, chopped into large chunks

  • 1.5 lbs Yellow or Red Potatoes, cubed (peeled or unpeeled)

  • 1 cup Chicken Broth

Instructions:

  1. Layer the Base: Place your chopped cabbage into the bottom of a 6-quart slow cooker. It will look like a lot, but don’t worry—it shrinks significantly as it cooks!

  2. Add the Heart: Layer your cubed potatoes over the cabbage, followed by the sliced sausage on top.

  3. Pour and Season: Pour the chicken broth over everything. While the “4 ingredients” cover the base, feel free to sprinkle a little salt and a generous amount of cracked black pepper over the top.

  4. Slow Cook: Cover and cook on Low for 6-7 hours or on High for 3-4 hours. You’ll know it’s done when the potatoes are fork-tender and the cabbage is translucent.

  5. Toss and Serve: Give everything a gentle toss before serving to ensure the juices from the sausage coat the vegetables.
