Cooking Instructions
-
Prepare the Pork: Lightly season your pork chops with salt and black pepper on both sides. Place them in an even layer at the bottom of the slow cooker. If you have time, searing the chops in a pan for 2 minutes per side before adding them to the crockpot will lock in extra flavor, though it isn’t strictly necessary.
-
Mix the Sauce: In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together the condensed French onion soup, cream of mushroom soup, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and garlic powder until smooth.
-
Combine: Pour the soup mixture directly over the pork chops in the slow cooker. Use a spoon to ensure the chops are well-covered by the onions and sauce.
-
Slow Cook: Cover the slow cooker with the lid. Cook on Low for 6 to 7 hours or on High for 3 to 4 hours. For the most tender results, the low and slow method is highly recommended to prevent the pork from becoming tough.
-
Serve: Once the pork is fork-tender, remove the chops carefully. Stir the gravy remaining in the pot to incorporate all the juices. Serve the chops with a generous ladle of the French onion gravy over the top.
Serving Suggestions
These pork chops are best served over a bed of creamy mashed potatoes, egg noodles, or steamed white rice to soak up the extra onion gravy. For a complete meal, add a side of roasted green beans or a crisp green salad to balance the richness of the sauce.
