Minister’s Delight

🍒 Minister’s Delight (Cherry Cobbler)

This recipe relies on the “magic” method: you don’t stir the batter into the fruit. You let the oven do the work of rising the cake up through the cherries.

Ingredients

Component Quantity Notes
Butter 1/2 cup (1 stick) Salted butter works best here
All-Purpose Flour 1 cup Sifted for a lighter crumb
Sugar 1 cup Plus extra for sprinkling on top
Baking Powder 2 tsp Ensure it’s fresh for a good rise
Whole Milk 1 cup Room temperature is ideal
Cherries 2–3 cups Fresh (pitted) or frozen dark sweet cherries
Vanilla Extract 1 tsp For that “bakery” aroma
